Learning Objectives: Children will
understand that when people in the northern hemisphere are experiencing
wintery weather, people in the southern hemisphere are having
summer by examining a physical globe, by locating current climatic
information about the UK, and then by contrasting those figures
with those of a country in the southern hemisphere.
Have the children visit www.lonelyplanet.com to gather more information about the southern hemisphere country they will be
travelling to for the UN conference.
They can use the following worksheet to direct their research.

Learning Objectives: The children
will be able to synthesise all they have absorbed in the unit
thus far by creating a mini-presentation about the country they
have researched.
The children could create a virutal postcard, both with
a drawing of themselves experiencing the weather that was forecast for the region,
as well as a note to their teacher or parents about how well or poorly prepared
they were.
