Teachers Network Wins Silver Reel Award at the 39th Annual Media Communications Association-International Media Festival
“Podcasting with Students” Video Resource Represents Top Creative and Technical Application
The 39th Annual Media Communications Association-International (MCA-I) Media Festival, sponsored by Acme Corp, John Roach Projects, Watts Communications, SP Video and proGROUP, was held on September 22, 2007 in
Milwaukee WI, in order to honor and announce the winners of its highly coveted Golden, Silver, and Bronze Reel Awards celebrating excellence in media communications. Teachers Network received the Silver Reel Award in the category of Training/Education for its instructional podcast video, Podcasting with Students. The video is part of Making the Most of the Web with Your Students, a series of quality educational videos about how teachers can effectively incorporate interactive media into classroom teaching, and a component of Teachers Network’s How to Use the Internet in Your Classroom Program.
Since 1978, Golden, Silver, and Bronze Reel Award honors have been highly coveted and recognized internationally for their prestige. The winners of this internationally recognized award represent some of the outstanding works of creativity and advancement in technical applications. Entries in all categories are first reviewed by preliminary panels of professional media communicators and the highest ranking entries are then reviewed by a Blue Ribbon Panel which confers outstanding projects with Golden, Silver or Bronze Reels.
Although the Silver Reel Award is a first for this particular teacher resource video, “Podcasting with Students,” the
award is just one more testimonial to what many educators have already experienced with the exceptional quality of Teachers Network’s resources for both new and veteran teachers. Through
the help of resources available online 24/7 at http://teachersnetwork.org, as well as through print, video, and self-guided and instructor-led
courses, more and more teachers who are in need of practical help and advice on topics, such as curriculum standards, classroom management, and assessment, or even something as basic
as searching for lesson plans, can now look outside the confines of the individual teacher’s classroom and access thousands of quality for teacher, by teacher resources
right at their fingertips.
