It has been said that "Not knowing your heritage is like a tree without roots." Many children who were born in the U.S. but come from immigrant parents don't know their culture. As a result, many have a hard time fitting in. They also get disconnected from their families. They need to realize that this country was founded by immigrants and we all share different backgrounds that make us unique. This project will help students become familiar with their heritage and build self esteem. Also they will learn how their culture has contributed in making America what it is today. Students will go on an adventure researching and learning about their parents countries and about themselves. |
