Background Information Depending on the region a group of people live, determines a lot of their customs and traditions. That is why Social Customs and traditions vary so much from place to place. The environment plays a great part in the influence of groups foods, shelter, clothing, etc. In learning about their cultural heritage, the students will think about their culture and be able to compare it to others' culture. When we are born we inherit our parents physical attributes, but culture is by what is passed down by our daily surroundings and practices. As students learn more about their customs and traditions, it will help them appreciate more the variety of beliefs and how much they have in common.
