You have two options

I.
First visit
Geography
of Rome. Here
you will get an idea of where you would have been if
you lived in ancient Rome and what
you would have seen if you looked out of your
window.
Answer the questions as you explore Rome's
geographical land features and
other sights.
Answer the following questions as you search Geography of Rome Answers
1. What is the shape of Italy compared to in this site? (1 point)
2. How do the authors
of Geography of Rome describe the difference between the
countryside and
the cities?
3. Describe what kind of
buildings you might see in Ancient Rome and what they were
used for. (4 points)
4. Describe what geographical feature surrounds the city of Rome? (1 point)
5. What body of water runs through the city of Rome? (1 point)
6. Where do farmers
grow their crops? Do you think it was easy or hard to grow crops
there?

Next go to

and print an outline of Africa Then visit

Learning Europe and
print an outline of Europe. You will use these
outlines
later when you search for ancient maps of the
Roman empire.
III.
Take a closer look at this
Ancient
Rome map
and
Roman
Empire map
to see all the
land the Romans conquered. Now you will use the outlines of Africa and Europe
you
printed to do the following activities.
RUBRIC
a. Title the maps " Land Conquered By Rome"
b. Draw a Compass Rose on the map.
c. Color the area of land light green on
your outline maps to show the land the
Romans
conquered.
d. Then label what countries they each are today.
e. Color the water blue and label each body of water.
IV.
Now
that you have researched the land of the Ancient Rome
Empire lets take a
closer look at Rome today.
A. Print an outline map of Italy at Enchanted Learning. This is an outline of Italy today.
B. Visit Map of Italy to label the following items on the outline map of Italy. Rubric
a. Draw a red star where Rome is located and label it "Rome".
b. Draw
a compass rose on the bottom right hand corner of the map and label the
directions.
c. Label all the seas surrounding Italy
d. Draw a blue line to represent Tiber River.
e. Draw a brown triangle were Mt. Vesuvius is found (Old Pompeii)
f. Label the two islands off the coast of Italy.
g. Label the Vatican City on the map with a black circle.
V. Finally, print quiz at Enchanted Learning Italy and complete the questions. Answers
