Scientist Research Student Instructions

1.   You will use the computer to create a table to gather information on a Roman or Italian 
      scientific discovery or invention.

2.  The headings you will use will be:

      a.  Scientist Name

      b.  Year of Discovery  

      c.  Discovery or Invention 

      d.  How has it impacted the world.

3.  Use the following sites to get information, or you can use a search engine.

     Italian Inventors         Roman Technology      Engineering and Science

      You must have at least six different names and inventions.

4.   Use your table to create a timeline of discoveries.  create a timeline

5.  After you complete your research you will pick one of the scientist and write a report on that 
     person.

6.  The scientist report will include the persons name, the year, what invention or discovery are  
     they famous for and how has that invention helped civilization.  Your report is NOT on a 
     table but in paragraph form. You are adding more specific details and it will be typed up on 
     the computer and presented on a board.

7.  The board should include:

        a.  Picture of the person if available

        b.  Picture of the invention

        c.  How invention has helped society

        d.  Your typed report

        e.  Any other information that will help with your oral presentation. (Be Creative)
