Introduction
Toy Planet is a unit designed to teach students how to create and operate a business. Each lesson utilizes the computer, however, the children work in groups to plan and write the various aspects of their “company.” The “store” needs to be built using mathematical measurement skills and the budget is calculated on a spreadsheet. The remainder of the lessons are for advertising, promotion and sales which are necessary when running a company. Hard copies can be made afterwards and each group may give an oral or PowerPoint presentation to culminate the unit.
