Task: To produce a presentation on an NGO of your choice using the Internet sites provided.

You work for an NGO and have been asked to do a talk for a local secondary school who are planning on raising money from a school fete and wandering which organisation to give it to. Your audience are some year 9 students who have been studying development at school. They will listen to a variety of presentations from different NGO's and then vote which one they are going to support. You therefore only have 5 minutes to present your case and you want it to be good. The presentations are scheduled for next week so time is short and deadlines are tight!

Your brief: Your presentation must be between 4-6 minutes and must include all of the following:

1)     A brief introduction into the charities history and aims.

2)     Information about one specific project the school's money would go to, this should include a map of area, 2 illustrations and some basic information about the problems the area faces.

3)     The ways your charity is going to help tackle the problem (an outline of the project)

4)     Reasons why people should support your cause.

To gather this information you need to choose one of the NGO's from the list below and to go to their website.

Assessment:

You will be assessed on two criteria:   how well your work fits the brief- does it cover points 1-4, is it in the time limit?

The way you present your work to the rest of the class - Do you come across as professional and organised, are you speaking clearly?
