Introduction

Deserts have unique geological features and are an important part of the world, as they exist on all continents.  As humans, we have a significant impact on our environment.  On the other hand, the environment causes all living things to adapt.  In this project you will be working in groups to explore desert animals, plants, and peoples.  You will become an expert in a specific area of desert research.  You will be exploring and researching many different resources including the Internet to become very knowledgeable in your area of expertise.  You will be exploring how your specific area adapts to the difficult conditions that exist in the desert.  With your expertise you will be able to become part of a larger research group.  In this group, you will research and learn how your area of expertise reacts and interacts with the other areas in the desert environment.  As a group you will be constructing a Virtual Desert Museum to help others understand the aspects of adaptations in the desert environment.
