MAN'S BEST FRIEND

This unit is designed to teach elementary students the responsibilities of owning a pet while encouraging students to acquire a greater respect for the intrinsic value and worth of animals.  The activities will provide students with understanding concerning the selection, care, training and health of their pet.  Children will come to realize that pets are dependent on humans to meet their needs.  Students will examine the benefits of pet adoption and learn how to make a good match between pets and potential pet owners.
