MY PERFECT PET

Lesson Overview: Owning a pet is a lifetime commitment.  The animal has no one to depend upon but you the pet owner.  It is important for student to understand that owning  a pet goes beyond acquiring another possession.  Owning a pet involves the entire family; pets need love, attention and medical care for its entire life.  To acquire a pet with the attitude that if it doesn't work out we'll just get rid of it means contributing to the huge problem of too many unwanted animals.  It is important for children to understand that before owning a pet there are many aspects to consider.
