WHY NOT ADOPT?

LESSON # 4

Lesson Overview: Students will examine the benefits of pet adoptions.  Students will learn about the responsibilities associated with pet adoption and how to make a good match between pets and potential owners.  Families should always carefully consider the adoption of a pet and whether or not the family members are ready for this commitment.  All family members should keep in mind that the pet will depend on the family for care and love.  Pets provide many positive experiences for children, including development of self-esteem and compassion.
