Overview

 

In today's fast paced world it has become necessary for children learn to write in a variety of modes in order to keep abreast of their lives. By the time children are in middle school, community service is part of their curriculum. They need to learn how to document their hours as well as to write persuasively for the variety of activities that take place  both in the school and in their personal lives.

This unit addresses the diverse skills that boys and girls need in order to succeed. It is geared toward fifth and sixth graders and may be taught to all types of students. Each lesson can be completed within one week's time, using a portion of each day to review the work.

Language arts and technology are the primary subject areas covered.
