Checklist to Help Select & Plan Your Project

  1. Brainstorm potential projects with your students.
  2. Get more information about possible projects.
  3. Prioritize feasible projects.
  4. Have individual students select projects to work on.
  5. Have students interested in like projects form groups.
  6. Have the groups refine their projects.
  7. Have the groups present their project to the class.
  8. Plan activities for the project(s).
  9. Learn skills necessary to perform service.
  10. Conduct/Attend an orientation.
  11. Gather materials.
  12. Contact an expert, the Maryland Student Service Alliance
