Web Site Log

Project Rubric

·      Keep a journal-like log that includes the date, amount of time spent researching on that day, and the steps that you took in order to find the documents and research materials that you found on the internet. In addition, remember to include a completed log of the web sites that you visited as you were researching your topic (see web site log).

·      There are many web sites that may not be reliable or helpful. You must carefully evaluate the web site for its honesty and usefulness. You can do this by using one of the checklists at the following web address:

http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/eval.html

For this project, we are using the Secondary School Level form: http://school.discovery.com/schrockguide/evalhigh.html

www.teoma.com          www.yahooligans.com

www.wikipedia.edu       www.google.com

·      Write about the materials/documents/web sites that were the least helpful or useful. Explain why they were not helpful or useful.

·       Describe the most frustrating part of this research project. Why was it so frustrating?

·       Describe the most rewarding part of this research project. Why was it so rewarding?

·      This part of the project should be a minimum of one page - written in first person narrative - typed in 12-point font, double spaced and edited as a Microsoft Word document.

***MAKE SURE TO PRINT OUT THE FIRST PAGE OF EACH INTERNET DOCUMENT AND STORE THESE DOCUMENTS IN A POCKET FOLDER.
