Background
Young children have been
exposed to several movies about dinosaurs. The movies make no
distinction between dinosaurs of the same genus. In this lesson
the students will use the Internet to make comparisons between two
sauropods. The students will identify key similarities and
differences.
Objectives
Use online resources to revise, retrieve and verify data
Compare and contrast two sauropods
Materials
Computers with Internet access,
pictures of a Brachiosaurus and an Apotosaurus, Sauropods
Work Sheet, Venn diagram worksheet.
Procedure
The students will observe pictures of a
Brachiosaurus and an Apotosaurus.
Discuss how features are similar.
Discuss how features are different.
List data in a Venn diagram
Ask students to develop data to back up
visual observations by visiting book marked websites. Some sites
