About this Daily Classroom Special:
This worksheet is part of the Daily Classroom Special Up on Mount Olympus—A Study of Greek Mythology by Lisa Kihn

GREEK NEWSPAPER PROJECT


THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WILL BE INCLUDED IN EVERYONE’S NEWSPAPER:

- name of the newspaper - regional weather map
- date - bylines
- headlines - visuals with cutlines
- Greek advertisements (minimum of three) - index

CHOOSE EIGHT ITEMS BELOW TO INCLUDE IN YOUR NEWSPAPER:

- Horoscope for the gods, goddesses, mortals and heroes in Greek mythology (include at least ten)
- Obituary for a mortal and/or hero
- Design a crest for a god, goddess, mortal and/or hero 
- Write a message in Greek for Hermes to deliver to another character
- Editorial 
- Feature story on a god, goddess, mortal and/or hero
- Sports story involving Greek characters
- Cartoon involving Greek characters
- Comparison chart showing any or all of the following ancient cultures: Mayan, Incan, Aztec, Egyptian, Roman, Greek
- Stock market report (Which goods would the ancient Greeks have imported or exported?)


You may work individually or in pairs. Paste each item separately onto a large piece of butcher paper to display to the class. Use a colorful and creative format.
