Making a Script in Geometer's Sketchpad

A "script" is its own program that tells GSP to create a figure the exact way that you have created it. You will be able to recreate any figure with a script and the given information that the script requires. You can record your own script (in other words write your own program) to recreate a figure.

1) Look at the given information and the diagram on page 160 #16.

2) Construct this diagram in The Geometer’s Sketchpad using only the given information.

3) Write the steps to follow to construct this diagram with the same properties of the given information.

4) You should be able to manipulate your diagram and it will maintain its same properties.

5) Create a "script" that will always create this same figure.

§ Open a new sketch.

§ Open a new script.

§ Start recording in the script.

§ Begin your construction in your new sketch document.

§ Stop recording when you have finished your diagram.

6) Save only your script to YOUR 3½" floppy disk and call it Prob2.

7) Turn in only your disk for this Problem 2.  Make sure that your disk has your name on it!
