THE OUTDOOR PATH TO GOOD WRITING

Fall Writing Ideas

Name _________________________

Fall Writing

Today is November 21, 2005, and I am a sixth grader at _______ Middle School. Here is who I am now:

These are some things that are important to me…..

These are some things I like about school…..

These are some of my friends…..

Here are some things I am looking forward to……

On the sheet of white paper draw a sketch of the mountain scene you see today.

Story Writing Ideas
Good stories frequently come from personal experiences. Every day is full of experiences that make you think. You do things you feel good about. You hear things that make you mad. You are reminded of a past experience. See if these prompts give you some realistic fiction story ideas.

A memory from young childhood…..

A time that was really funny…..

A time that was sad…..

A time I was really angry…..

A time I was frightened…..

Here is a list of other ideas that may help you create a good story.

My best day
My worst day
An unforgettable dream
The hardest thing I have ever done
The worst thing to wait for
My best kitchen creation
A time I was sick
My secret snacks
Things that drive me crazy

Write about at least three of the above topics.
