P.S. 35
Bronx, NY
Principal:
Graciela Navarro

Modifications

I taught the children how to use nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs by using various teaching methods and techniques. I taught lessons, used books, worksheets, games and the computer in my classroom to teach this unit.

Instructional Objectives

Students will:

  • Become familiar and comfortable with using computers
  • Understand that there are alternative ways of learning
  • Be able to define and reorganize what nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs are.

Technology Integration

Students were able to assess what they learned about parts of speech on various websites. They also created pictures and sentences using KidPix slide show.

Assessment

Students were assessed via different mediums: KidPix slide show, computer websites, games, worksheets, and books.

Tips for Teachers

It's a good idea to adapt this unit because it allows students the experience of learning lessons via the internet. I think that it's a good resource and helps our students become familiar with educational websites.
