“By teachers for teachers” is at the heart and soul of what Teachers’ Network is all about and is the foundation for a strong powerful national network working to improve the quality of education by supporting teachers.
Bill Cirone is the elected Superintendent of Schools for the Santa Barbara County Education Office, Santa Barbara, CA. Now serving his seventh four-year term, Bill's 26 years as Superintendent makes him the longest serving County Superintendent in California. He has also been a teacher and administrator and has worked as an executive in the private sector. He is the past board president of the Santa Barbara Community Foundation. He is past chair and board member of Partners in Education. Bill is past president of the board for the National Center for Learning and Citizenship, a project of the Education Commission of the States. He also chairs the Santa Barbara County First Five Commission and the Fighting Back Alcohol and Drug Abuse Task Force. He also serves on the Hazelden Board of Directors. He has received the 2004 Santa Barbara News-Press Lifetime Achievement Award and the Anti-Defamation League's Distinguished Community Service Award. Bill was invited to participate in the White House Summit on Children and Families and in a White House dialogue on national standards and testing.Add text and images.
