Allen Trent, University of Wyoming, Laramie, WY
As you all realize, I'm doing my own research project about your research projects and our WTPI work, so here's my quick summary:
... I have collected WTPI documentary evidence and kept a journal/collection of field notes since we started in August. I'm working with a group in Colorado
(WICHE - Western Interstate Commission on Higher Education) that is interested in teacher professional development and policy connections, so I'm sharing my project progress with them as I go.
SOON, you will be receiving a "midpoint questionnaire" that Deb and I have put together. We are asking that you complete it and bring it to our February meetings. I don't have consent forms from a few of you, so I'll also ask you to complete these (if willing) in Feb. The questionnaire will give you a good idea as to where I'm going with my research. While there will not be an incentive enclosed with the questionnaire (other than a big
PLEEEEASE), I will be happy to buy you a beverage of choice while in Cheyenne and will thank you profusely. To prepare you, I'm also hoping to do some interviewing (of you!) throughout the spring, and then will end the school year with another questionnaire.
I haven't heard from many of you lately, so I assume all is A OK. Please let me know if I can help in any way, literature research, data gathering, coding, or display, or anything else you can think of. Have any of you been into the UW "off campus access"? I'm curious to know if this is working and/or helpful. I realize you are all busy. I am too. I'm trying to decide how well I'll be able to function if I quit sleeping. It would give me a few extra hours to work each day. Check in when you can. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in Feb. |
