Capturing Images of the Fish Study Project


Projected Time Required 

Two to Three Sessions

Objective

  • Students will learn to use the digital camera.
  • Students will learn to compile information and materials collected thus far.

Materials
  • Completed observation sheets
  • Completed fish charts
  • Completed fish murals
  • A digital camera
  • A computer

Procedure
  • The teacher introduces the digital camera and explains how it is different from a traditional camera.
  • The teacher demonstrates how to use the digital camera.
  • The teacher demonstrates how to download pictures from the digital camera onto the computer and insert them into Kid Pix files.
  • The students work in small groups and take turns using the camera to take pictures of their hand drawings, fish charts, and fish murals.

Assessment
  • Students will be able to use the digital camera with relative ease.
  • Students will be able to download pictures.
