Title: Smile, You're on Webcam Camera!
Materials and Technology Needed:
- E-pals (Gaggle.net is a wonderful site for setting up filtered student e-mail accounts!)
- At least one computer station as a center, but a mini lab would be wonderful!! If neither are available , the school computer lab could be used if it has Internet access and a word processor.
- Web cams
- Microsoft Netmeeting
Activities:
- Set up a time to hold a teleconference with the E-Pal class
- Send your IP address to the other class
- One class must "host" the conference call and that teacher enters the IP Address of the class they are calling. (E-mail me if you'd like step by step directions on how to determine IP addresses and hold video conferences using Microsoft Netmeeting.)
- Have fun meeting your E-Pals "face to face"! They can do a collaborative drawing on the whiteboard that is included in the program!! Have cupcakes "together"!! What FUN!!!!
Assessment:
- Did you see smiles on their faces?
- Did they recognize their E-pals???
