Uncovering Personalities in Othello |
"Uncovering Personalities In Othello" is designed to be taught after the play "Othello" has been read. The unit focuses on the real personalities of four major characters and helps students to see how these characters pretend to be who they are not, only to reveal who they truly are. The purpose is to allow students to gain intense character analysis in preparation for acting out certain major scenes in the play. Once students understand what motivates the characters, they will gain a unique insight that will emerge in their performances. *note: all references to line numbers are based on The New Folger Library copy of Othello |
