SKELETON
Skull and
madible formed the braincase and jaws. Holes in the skull were fro
muscles, nostrils, and glands. Teeth were specialized according to
diet; new teeth replaced old ones, which fell out.

Ribs
shielded the vital organs. Some dinosaurs also had belly ribs,
called gastralia. Limb bones acted as levers worked by
muscles. |

SOFT ANATOMY
Bones
were bound together by ligaments, and muscles were often attached to
bones by tendons. Pared, opposing muscles contracted and relaxed to
move limbs to and fro. Flesh-eaters digestive system had a fairly
short, simple alimentary tract, but herbivores needed a long,
complex intestine to break down fibrous
vegetation. |
