Livelihood of the Times

Lesson Four

Background Information

Our forefathers on migrating to America found no great cities, they found only a vast, uncultivated region - the valleys, the plains, rolling hills, and forests.  A few ministers and artisans, rulers, merchants and farmers set out to build and create a new nation.

Lets investigate the various trades that were important at the time and compare and contrast the similarities and differences between colonial jobs and jobs today.
