Procedures

Session 1

After students have gathered the appropriate support materials they will work in their original small groups to focus on the most appropriate narrative for each slide in their individual presentations.  Students will look again at use of adjectives and  sentence length.  They will discuss with each other their perceptions of the desires of the target audience of each presentation.  Other considerations include the color and size of the text to make sure that it is readable in the presentation.  students will make notes on their storyboards to reflect these discussions.

Session 2

Students will write their narratives.  The narratives should be word processed so that they can be cut and pasted into the presentation.  Students should review the sites noted in their planning matrix for ideas for their narrative.

Extensions

Review persuasive writing.  Refer to the brochures from Lesson 1.

Homework

Narratives can be completed for homework and e-mailed to school for insertion into presentation.

Evaluation

Students will follow Grade level appropriate writing conventions with 80% accuracy.  Writing content will be appropriate to the target audience and will include at least one entry for each characteristic/region.
