Program overview
How It Works: “Surfing the Net with Authors” is an instructional integrated technology and curriculum unit
developed for the K-2nd grades and includes three components: favorite authors, animal studies and early learning
experiences with the computer/Internet. This unit answers the teaching challenge of how to engage K-2nd students
into experiencing a broader use of computers and the Internet while learning about identifiable authors and researching
animal/habitat facts.
