Lesson 2:
Begin by exposing the students to a wide variety of information about animals. Make sure to include information about reptiles, amphibians, mammals, birds, and fish.
Several laserdiscs are available that cover this information. Some good laserdiscs include: National Geographic Society-Animals, Disney ImaginActive Interactive Videodisc-Wildlife Exploration:Preservation and Conservation, and BBC's Encyclopedia of Animals by Pioneer.

Give students the opportunity to examine
plenty of books and magazines about animals before making a selection for their
reports. The
author, Caroline
Arnold, has written dozens of non-fiction animal books. The magazine, Zoobooks, is also a good resource.
