Lesson III

Title:   Come With Me

Objectives:

• The student will view the Caribbean Islands Websites ( pre-selected by the teacher) and by the process of comparison and contrast  will select one Caribbean Island to research.
• Given the choice, made by the student, he\she will take notes on the island facts, which will enable him\her to provide an ample description for his\her brochure. Criteria will be provided for the note taking.
• Using the kidspiration web, the students will refer to the activities, places of interest and events they have chosen to include in the brochure presentation.

Materials:

•  URLs  for Caribbean Islands Websites
• Computers/Internet Access
• Index cards and pencil for notes

Activities:

•      The teacher will provide URLs for different Caribbean Islands ( pre-selected) websites.
•      The students will select one Caribbean Island to research.
•      the students will take notes on the island of choice, using a list provided by the teacher on 
•      facts, places of interest , etc. 

Homework:

Students will be asked to write a draft, using their notes, of the description they will use in their brochure.

Lesson IV

Objectives:

• Students will continue to research, if needed .
• Students will revise their homework draft with partners using MS Word to type up their draft and revisions.

Materials:

•  Students' homework assignments (drafts).

Activities:

 Some students will continue researching if more time is needed.

The remainder of the students will revise their draft with a partner/teacher.
