Lesson II

Title:   What do students  9 to 13 years of age enjoy doing ?

Objective:

• The student will use Kidspiration to create a web ( graphic organizer).
• The student will brainstorm the concept of what is fun for young students 9 through 13 years of age.
• Students will decide what specific "fun activity  and site" they will look for in their island of choice.

Materials:

• Kidspiration Program
• Printer

Activities:

• The teacher will ask if the students would like to go to an Opera or to the beach.  The teacher will then encourage the students to talk about what they like to do and see and explain why.
• Students will participate in a discussion about what kids like to do and see in a small group setting.
• Using the Kidspiration program  they will map out their thoughts by using the symbol palette and the formatting toolbar.
• Students will decide what kinds of activities, events, places of interest to kids they will include in their personal  travel brochure.

Homework:

      Students will list the activities, events and  places of interest they will include in their personal brochure and write a short description explaining the reason (s) for the choices.
