Does the story have a title, author, and illustrator?

Is the story humorous?

Are the characters silly?

Does the story include characters who are mischievous?

Does the story include rhyming words?

Are words repeated?

Are there elements in the plot that are outrageous?

Is the theme of the book stated within the first few pages?

Is there an element of the plot that is unexpected?

Is there an element of satire in the story?
