China Map and Quiz answers.
Blank
Outline Map of China
Vocabulary:
longitude, latitude, climate, landform, region, topographical, border,
mountain, range
Activity:
Create a class web
of facts students already know about China, including what continent China is
located on, and what landforms they would find there. (For most teachers,
this is the first step in assessing students' prior knowledge of China. In
my classroom, where about half of my students are of Asian background, this
serves as a great motivator.)
Distribute a map
worksheet to each student.
*This map taken from
China: Dim Sum: 3 Mapping Lessons
When the first map is completed and
correct, give students a copy of
Enchanted Learning's China Map and Quiz
Extension:
Have students go to
Beauty, the
Land of China - Land Regions to read about its
eight different land regions. Give students a
blank outline map of China, and have them create a topographical (landform)
map, including their own map keys. Create a class graph showing which
region students would most like to visit.
Homework:
Students will create a postcard for a friend or family member describing their
"trip" to one of China's eight regions. For one week have students
track the weather in a
city from 2 different regions. Have students complete
China's Geography Word Search. ** Teachers
click here for answers to the Geography Word
Search.
Evaluation:
Look at the initial class web, how much information was accurate and
correct? Ask students what, if anything, they would add or drop from
the class web. Did students correctly label and answer the questions
based on the maps?
