Be A Perfect Person in Just Three Days - Lesson 7

Objectives: Students will be able to:

* identify vocabulary

* identify story elements (Title, Author, Setting, Characters, Problem, Events one, two and three and Solution) by using a story map

Materials:

* Story Map

* Worksheet (vocabulary test)

* Worksheet (comprehension test)

* Worksheet (book review)

* Computer with Internet and word processing.

Working with words: Vocabulary to be covered within assessment.

Activity: The teacher will...

1. Begin lesson by reviewing vocabulary words and definitions.

2. Administered vocabulary test. (20 minutes)

3. Administered comprehension test. (30 minutes)

4. Pair up students to complete a book review activity using their book. ( print out the worksheet and complete it) (20 minutes)

5. Allow students to share their responses with another pair.

6. If time permits allow 2-3 pairs to share their responses.

7. Review the events of the story and have a discussion with the class.

8. Printout a story map (optional) and the students will work in pairs to complete it. (30 minutes)

9. Allow students to share their story map with another pair.

10. If time permits allow 2-3 pairs to share their story map.

11. Have the students go online to Puzzle Maker and create crossword puzzles and word searches using selected vocabulary words from the entire unit.

Evaluation: Students will participate in review, complete assessment, do a book review activity and a story map.

Home Learning:

* Students will complete a BE A PERFECT PERSON IN JUST THREE DAYS acronym poem on the computer.

* Students will complete a worksheet on "I'm glad I'm me."  They are going to write about some things they like about themselves, their families, and their neighborhood.
