Inventors and

Their Inventions

What's an Invention?

The word invention brings to mind  images of fancy contraptions and devices, wacky gizmos and gadgets.  But most inventions are ordinary parts of our everyday lives - a new tool for the garden, can opener, or car model, for example.  Many inventions aren't contraptions at all.  Some inventions are recipes, like the Toll House recipe for chocolate chip cookies.

An invention is any new thing that makes something faster, easier, more powerful, more efficient, more attractive, more accurate, more fun, or more productive - in other words, just plain better.
