It's Dimensional

Lesson Two

Background Information

Geometry is a mathematical representation of the real world.  Sometimes it is difficult for children to see the relationship between geometry and nature.  When you compare and contrast a two-dimensional object is usually a representation of a three dimensional object; even a flat piece of paper has depth.  Students begin to identify how three dimensional objects are used in the world around us. In this lesson students create three-dimensional objects using play dough.
