OBJECTIVE:
The students will develop an understanding of another culture
(Mexican) as they use real-world experiences that are meaningful. As
they navigate through this interdisciplinary web quest, they will
communicate in a variety of ways, and retrieve, organize, and
synthesize data to develop an understanding of how culture affects
our world.
DESCRIPTION
Students will collaborate in groups of five as a
team. Through the use of the Visual Learning software program
Inspiration, they will organize, brainstorm, plan, draw
conclusions, analyze and synthesize information, etc., to determine
whether Mayan ruins should be destroyed for a future mall, or remain
as part of history. They will then create a multimedia presentation
that will be shown to the rest of the class. They will be assessed by
the class using a teacher-made rubric.
