PROJECT ORGANIZATION

This project can be done in a classroom or a lab. If the teacher has access to the Internet and a projector the work can be done as a group project. In this case research might be done on the Internet as well as in resource books. The template for the webpage should also be done as a group activity.

In younger grades vocabulary, the wordsplash activity and the introduction to culture as well as climate and geography should all be done as a group activity. The group will create separate webpages for each of these activities.

In a cluster of four computers the tasks can be divided into groups researching and working together on a given area. For example, one group might report on art, dance and music. A second group might cover geography and climate. A third group might research and create materials for pages on religion, history and government. A fourth group might work on science, ecology, animals and habitats.

In a lab setting or mobile computer setting each student or pair of students could be encouraged to create a web. The linking of the individual webpages to the index page should be demonstrated to the entire group. The individual groups will attach their pages to the homepage.
