JOHN DAVIES IN ROAD CRASH!
October 22
Yesterday a man died and John Davies was hurt in a car accident. Davies, 26, known to millions as England's best tennis player, was driving home from the tennis court. It was about 7 p.m. and the traffic on High Street was going about 30 m.p.h.
It was raining, but Davies decided to pass and so he did not see a truck which was coming the other way. The driver of the truck tried to stop but the brakes did not work on the wet road and there was a terrible crash. The car hit the truck and a man who was walking his dog on the sidewalk was struck by the truck and died. Davies was not seriously hurt, although his nose was cut. The people in the truck were bruised but they were not seriously hurt.
There was a terrible traffic jam until 10 p.m.
