Third graders, studying about Chinese culture, would enjoy playing

the traditional Chinese game of Tangram Puzzles. A tangram

is a Chinese puzzle consisting of a square cut into five triangles,

a square, and a rhomboid, to be reassembled into different figures.

The objective of this three to four week unit is to develop spacial relationships,

identify polygons, reinforce the relationships between equivalent fractions,

appreciate Chinese folktales, and develop creative writing skills.
