I'm in the Money
Teaching Kids Practical Money Skills

How It Works:
"Money is the root of all evil." We have heard this saying many times.  There is a certain amount of truth in it.  Most Americans live the American Dream by putting themselves in debt, which can lead to stress. It's time to change our ways and put money into perspective. With budgeting tips learned in this unit, students can learn how to attain American Dream without getting themselves into debt.

This project teaches kids about how money is made, earned, spent, saved and shared. Students  follow money from the time it is made in a US mint to the time it gets in their hands; after participating in activities from the unit, they are made aware of ways to make wise spending choices.  They learn various ways to make a budget, utilize their math skills to keep a record of what they spend, and use technology to help them keep track of their money.
