In New York City at the New York Harbor, you can see the Statute of Liberty. She was a gift of friendship from France to the people of the United States in the late 1800's. Lady Liberty is a symbol of freedom and she is one of our National Monuments. The Statute of Liberty was built in France and took 10 years to make! From the base to Lady Liberty’s torch, it is 302 feet tall.
