Human rights violations in Germany is similar to that of 1984 by George Orwell and also different in many ways.Germany’s government was a dictatorship led by Adolf Hitler and it’s the same in 1984 because the government is also a dictatorships led by a group of people who called themselves "Big Brother". In both Germany and 1984, there is only one political party. The German government used powerful secret police called Gestapo and in 1984 the police were called "Thought Police". No one knew whether or not a guy person was some kind of agent or police so everyone had to be conscious of their actions in both Germany and in 1984. For example, "… a figure in blue overalls was coming down the pavement…, maybe she is really a Thought Police." In both Germany and 1984 , anyone who was suspected of opposing the government was sent to concentration camps. An example from 1984 is, "… if they detected the diary, he would be sent to labor camp."The German government and in 1984 had control of the press, school system, courts and police. For example, "… children could report anyone they suspected." In Germany and in 1984 personal freedom was tightly restricted. " behind Winston’s back the telescreen was still babbling away.." Anything that was done or said was known by the government. People were constantly watched by telescreens. Anyone who opposed the laws and rules in Germany and in 1984 would be tortured, beaten up or killed. For example, "every word had to be forced out of him between gasps of pain."In Germany and 1984 the people in Germany like the Jews and Slavs were considered inferior and lived in ghettos. They were half-starved and lived in ruined buildings. In Germany there was scapegoating and in 1984 there was Hate Week or Two Minute Hate. The Allied bombed Germany and Germans actually wanted to win the war. In 1984 the proles lived and roamed their surroundings freely. In 1984 the supplies of razors, chocolate was in ration and in Germany supplies of food, fuel and water was also very low.
