All About Me

Autobiographical Sketch

Who I am, Right Now!

As you know, you will be working on a number of writing assignments related to you,  your family, and your family roots. In your first essay, you told the story of your life, from your point of view, in what  we call an autobiography. This week, you are to describe yourself in the present, in perfect detail, in what we call an autobiographical sketch.

Some Important elements of your essay will be as follows:

·         Introduce yourself in a way that is catchy, interesting, even unique. Make sure the beginning represents who you are!

·         Describe yourself physically. Be detailed and specific.

·         Describe you personality. Are you shy, outgoing, intense, easygoing, happy, sensitive, independent, stubborn, athletic, hard-working…? Why? Give examples to explain.

·         Describe your mind. What are your strengths and weaknesses in school?

·         Describe your likes and dislikes. What do you love to do? What do you dislike? Use details and examples.

·         Describe some of your beliefs, values,  or ideas you  feel strongly about. This section could make a strong ending.
