The Heritage Report concludes the "About Me" writing unit that you have been working on. The report will be about a country where your ancestors lived before immigrating to America. The report consists of two parts: Research and Writing.
You are to identify sources of information about the country you have decided to research. These can include:
Internet
Encyclopedia
Magazines
CD-ROMs
Books
Once you have identified at least two different sources of information about your country, take down facts and information on note cards. (Note to teacher: Model to students how to write a bibliography and jot down facts on index cards) You must include a bibliography for each resource you use.
Writing:
Your Heritage Report needs to be at least six well-developed paragraphs. As with most writing assignments, be sure to include a catchy lead and a conclusion.
Three of the paragraphs are to be on these topics:
Food/recipes Language/sample words Customs/holidays
The remaining three paragraphs are to be on you choice of the following:
Clothing Geography Weather/climate
History Games/sports/pastimes Government
Landmarks/cities Economy Famous person
