Books

There are many books available about Native Americans. Any fifth grade social studies text will have a great deal of information written at a fifth grade reading level. Our text book was America Will Be, Houghton Mifflin Company, Boston. 1991

Published Educational Units and Reproducible Books

Check in any educational supply store and you will find a large supply of reproducible books. Here are a few of the books I used:

An Educational Read and Color Book of Plains Indians, Spizzirri Publishing, Inc., 1986. Also available for the Southwest, Southeast, Northwest, Northeast groups.

A Unit About Woodland Indians, Elaine Hansen Cleary, Evan-Moor Corp. 1995

North American Indians, McDonald Publishing Company, Inc. 1991

American Indians, Susan Finney and Patricia Kindle, Good Apple, Inc. 1985
