General
Main and Broadway was the community's focal point of beginning
the center of business and social life. Rudolf Cook, John Thornburg, Isaac
Miller and Isaac Fesler met in 1865. They traveled on a wagon train together.
At Santa Maria each man had 160 acres. They had to build crops.
In 1882 they named Santa Maria, Santa Maria, because
they wanted to name it Central City, but there was already a town named
that. Santa Maria is named after a river.
In 1904 Santa Maria was important as a city. Santa Maria
was windswept. Santa Maria didn't have no trees, so San Francisco brought
seed, so they could plant more trees. The Santa Maria Roads were sand and
there were a lot of car accidents.
