Santa Maria's background comes by people that lived here before us. In those years they had to do everything by hand. Labor was really tiring for them.
The first high school was built in 1894 and only four students graduated, two males and two females.
Life in the valley was really simple when it came to holidays. Especially when they visited the beach.
There was only one doctor in the Santa Maria Valley. He worked twenty four hours and went anywhere anytime families needed him.
They bought clothing and were dressed by the fashion. Wives didn't want to make clothes anymore, so that is why they bought the already made clothes.
The post office was reallyimportant in Santa Maria. At first there was one post office every fifteen miles away, andd they delivered by horse.
