A long time ago the name of Santa Maria was Central City. Crop were important to farm. Today streets are important which are named Broadway and Main. The Pacific Coast Railroad arrived to San Luis Obispo in 1882. Santa Barbara County Fair is held yearly. Also an annual Elks Rodeo and parade.

      Santa Maria has many types of transportation. Like the 101 freeway, airport and also taxis.

      We have a mall. It can have over 80 shops and restaurants.
